    MOR TALLA SAMB
    Comedy Actor/African Dancer
Mor Talla Samb is a comedy actor and master mbalax music dancer from Dakar, Senegal. As a young boy, he studied the movements of sabar dance professionals, and eventually cultivated his own style with a comedic flair. In 1993, Mor Talla launched his dance career with Senegalese recording artist Abou Diouba Deh & Jaarre Ngenndi Band. Two years later he began his career as a comedy actor with the Ibrahima Ndiaye Mame Yakhi Lalo Theatre Group. The intersection of his unique dance style and his inert ability to make people laugh landed him acting roles in high-profile Senegalese films such as, "Dévaluation" (RTS1, 1995), "Eüt Bi" (RTS1, 2003), and "Pa Almant" (Soleil Levant, 2007)
Not satisfied with simply making people laugh, Mor Talla also used his artistic abilities to increase public awareness of social issues. From 1993 to 1995 he toured nationally as a dancer and comedian with two non-profit organizations: the National Association for the Wellbeing of the Population (ANBEP), whose mission was to increase AIDS awareness and prevention, and the global United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), which served to educate the people of Senegal about vital records.
Mor Talla's regular appearances on television in comedy sketches such as "Jataayu Xaleyi" (RTS1, 1995-2005), and in the music video broadcast of "Wonni Wonni," (Abou Diouba Deh, 2004) made him one of Senegal's most sought-after artists. Mor Talla later performed in the music videos of many of Senegal's top mbalax recording artists such as Sidy Samb, Baba Diallo, Papa Ndiaye Guéweul and Doudou Ndiaye Mbengue, to name a few. In December 2006, world-renowned mbalax singer, Fallou Dieng invited Mor Talla to become a member of his DLC Band as his lead dancer. He toured worldwide with Fallou Dieng, performing in major concerts and festivals in France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Canada, and the United States. In August 2007, after a concert at Joe's Pub New York, journalist Evangeline Kim praised Mor Talla's performance,
"The whirling, levitating, astounding, turbaned Mor Talla, a phenomenal dancer whose voluminous blue robes ballooned with air whenever he managed to alight on the stage for just a few seconds, as he grinned and called out to an audience completely awestruck by such buoyant frenzy."
Mor Talla completed an African tour with Fallou Dieng before moving to the United States in 2008. After performing and teaching his unique style of African dance for five years in New York City, Mor Talla moved to Los Angeles, California in 2013 to pursue his acting career. In addition to his many talents on stage, off-stage Mor Talla is a licensed master barber. Mor Talla currently resides in Los Angeles, California
