It seems like every country on the entire planet has their own host of billionaires and multimillionaires who make massive fortunes and spend them on truly ridiculous things. We’ve covered the richest of the rich all over the world who indulge in big cars, big houses and big passions. We haven’t been to Algeria yet though. While many things are the same, you won’t believe some of the drama going on there.
Some of these billionaires truly have an eye for style. Fine suits every single day. Only a few luxury cars in the garage. They are truly the coolest of the cool. Sometimes that comes with a price.
Evidently the country is trying to crack down on widespread corruption everywhere. Some billionaires have just been skirting rules left and right. Some had secret lives of decadence and criminality that caused them to have to forfeit huge amounts of money. Though there’s at least one billionaire who lives in France now that seems to be a good guy. That’s something.
Not to mention the auto industry issues. A few years ago it looked like the country was about to build itself a massive automobile empire. Then we saw the opposite happen. Widespread corruption led to these plans getting absolutely destroyed. Forget about luxury cars. In Algeria right now, just having a used car is a bit of a flex.
