Abby Lakew is an Ethiopian singer songwriter and actress. She sings in Amharic and English. Lakew was born in Gondar, Ethiopia. She moved to the U.S when she was 13, and went to high school in Dallas, Texas. At the 2016 KORA All-Africa Music Awards, Abby Lakew was nominated for Best Traditional Female Artist for Africa.
