Love Songs in Ancient Egypt | P2 Papyrus Harris 500 by Milad Sidky

Most of Ancient Egypt's love poetry or love songs have been discovered in Deir el-Medina in Luxor, a village of tomb builders during the New Kingdom.
Four collections of love poems survived from ancient Egypt. They are:
Papyrus Chester Beatty I in Dublin
Papyrus Harris 500 in the British Museum in London.
Papyrus Turin 1966 in the Egyptian Museum in Turin, Italy.
Cairo Ostracon 25184 in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Egypt.
Though the Egyptian lovers frequently address each other as ‘‘my sister’’ and ‘‘my brother,’’ , no incestuous relationship is implied. The Ancient Egyptian used to call his or her Beloved as my sister or my brother to express metaphorically deep and sincere emotions.
