Senegal's Presidential Election: Minister Pledges President's Macky Sall Commitment to Process

  • A Senegalese minister says that President Macky Sall, who has faced a hurricane of criticism and acts of violence on the streets of the capital and other cities for several days, will deliver on his pledge to hold an election, after his current term in office expires in April.
Dakar and other Senegalese cities have seen mass protests this month, after President Sall suddenly decided to postpone the presidential election, scheduled to take place on February 25, to mid-December.
