Axons, neurons and morons setting fire to my brain. Tripping up the curbs of the information age, teasing beasts we cannot tame. So I'm gunna run away and join the circus, where even the fun and games cone to an end. Where the big tops topple down and the dancing bears weep, clowns take their medicine before they go to sleep.
And all my life I've been hearing folks play the card: "If there is a God, why does he let things carry on the way they are?". Now I'm not trying to excuse him, but if he was here to today, I'm sure she could ask us the same thing. But who am I to talk from my western cocoon? 'Suppose I could send some money to Syria soon to alleviate my conscience, and bathe my guilty skin, while trying to deny the "I" in altruism. Does that have a ring to it?
It's been sobering to realise that without this nanny state I despise, I wouldn't be as tall as I am today. Without immorality on toast and this ugly caucasian coast, fingers, thumbs and a tongue, I wouldn't be able to explain, that strangely enough I think I wrote this song for you. Your brown eyes and your brown hair and all the rest of you. I tend not to write love songs anymore, but it's your name that I've been singing for, because it has a ring to it.
